Melanoma Institute Australia is committed to the medical training of Fellows, Registrars, Resident staff and medical students. The latter positions are part of the stand rotating terms of the training programs of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney. Vocational Fellowships in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology are potentially arranged directly by application to the Unit. MIA conducts a broad ranging program of clinical and biological research on melanoma. It has the world's largest data base of melanoma patients (24,500+) and treats in excess of 1,200 new patients diagnosed with melanoma each year. Many clinics are conducted within the Institute every week and more than 10,000 people with melanoma and skin cancer are seen annually through this clinical service.
