People living with advanced melanoma face personal challenges every day of their lives.

We challenge YOU to support melanoma research and give hope to people living with melanoma.

We are asking community groups, individuals, schools and workplaces to host an event to raise awareness of melanoma and to raise funds for vital melanoma research. You may like to hold a cake stall, trivia night or a BBQ. Your fundraising is limited only by your imagination!

Like to bake? Have a cake stall! Enjoy riding? Organise a ride-a-thon! Involved in a soccer team? Hold a match for melanoma! 

We can assist you with your event through providing educational materials and posters, and we may even be able to supply you with merchandise to sell or provide you with a speaker. For more information or to discuss your event further, give us a call on 02 9911 7200.

Fundraising ideas

Get your thinking caps on! Here are some fun ideas to get you started:

• Get your friends together and hold a cake stall at your workplace, school or sporting club.
• Do you play on a sports team? Hold a “Match for Melanoma” where everyone gives a gold coin donation to play and invite your friends to have a bake sale at the match.
• Are you in a band? Play a gig.
• Host a breakfast or lunch at your workplace.
• Encourage your school or workplace to have a mufti day. Ask every to make a gold coin donation if they are wearing casual clothes.
• Are you artistically-minded? Hold an art exhibition and auction off the artwork to the local community.
• Organise a sausage sizzle at your school, workplace or sporting game.
• Do you have lots of old books or clothing that you would like to see put to good use? Organise a garage sale at your school, home, or community centre and ask your friends to donate their unwanted goods too. Or you could set up a market stall at your local markets.
• Ask your local cinema to see if they will hold a preview screening of a new release movie. Charge a few extra dollars per ticket and sell to families at your school. At the screening, you may also be able to sell chocolates, drinks or other snacks.
• Ask each family at your school, workplace or community group to contribute to a cookbook. Have them printed and sell the cook books.
• Hold a guessing competition. Fill a jar of lollies and charge people $3 per guess. The winner gets all the lollies!
• Organise a night out at a bowling alley or an afternoon of barefoot bowls. Simply charge a few extra dollars on top of the price to hire the venue.
• Love to cook? Why not cook up a big batch of your favourite dish and sell it to your class mates or colleagues for their lunch?
• Hold a trivia night at your local pub or school. Be sure to include some questions about melanoma!
• Host a themed night and invite friends and family to participate. For example, you could have an 80’s party where everyone dresses up, serve food from the 80’s, play games or watch a classic 80’s movie!
