Working together to reduce melanoma rates

SunSense is proud to partner with the Melanoma Institute of Australia to support education and research to help reduce melanoma rates in Australia.

Every day, no matter how careful we are, we are exposed to sunlight. Exposure to ultra-violet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main cause of skin cancer and premature skin ageing, Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world1, with Melanoma the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer.2

Helping to increase education and awareness of the risks associated with UV exposure,  will encourage better sun protection habits and increase sunscreen compliance. Australians love to have fun in the sun, but need to take adequate steps to help protect their family (sunscreen, sun protective clothing, hat, seek shade).

Wearing a very high sun protection sunscreen helps protect against sun damage, pigmentation, premature ageing, wrinkles and skin cancer.
