Patient Support Services

MIA provide many services and resources to support patients, and their carers, on their melanoma journey.

Patient Support Services

Melanoma nurses

Our melanoma nurses provide direct care and support for our melanoma patients throughout their treatment journey.

In Sydney our melanoma nurses provide support to patients undergoing treatment or participating in a clinical trial.

In Western Australia and the Riverina we have melanoma community nurses who provide support and guidance to local patients:

Wagga – Danielle Goss  - Phone 0413 766 232 - Email Danielle.Goss@melanoma.org.au

WA – Tanya Harris -  Phone 0459 463 451 – Email Tanya.Harris@melanoma.org.au

In partnership with Melanoma Patients Australia, we also provide a specialist melanoma nurse telehealth service to support patients in navigating the health system, accessing available services and making decisions regarding their health. This personalised telephone support service is available to all melanoma patients and their carers, particularly in regional and remote areas.

Telehealth Nurse - Brooke Kelly  - Phone 1300 884 450 to book an appointment.

MIA Clinical Psychology Service

Clinical psychology services are now available at MIA, so patients can have counselling at a time when they need it most.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our Senior Clinical Psychologist, Dr Skye Dong, to provide psychological support and psychotherapy to melanoma patients.

Dr Dong is a highly regarded clinician in psycho-oncology, having worked extensively in oncology, especially in advanced cancer and palliative care.

Dr Dong currently offers appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This is a no fee service. Referral by your health care professional is preferred, although self-referrals are accepted. Please note that this is not a crisis mental health service.

To make an appointment phone (02) 9911 7285 or email psychology@melanoma.org.au

Like a significant amount of our research and activities at MIA, Dr Dong's position was only made possible through generous philanthropic support.
